Week 1 is PSAL-
Lincoln 99, Grady 62: NBA ready Lance Stephenson lead all scores with 34 points and 14 rebounds. Darwin Ellis added 18 of his own while connecting on 2 three's.
Thomas Jefferson 68, ENY-transit tech 57: Jefferson has a trio of Keith Spellman, Joel Wright and Davontay Grace. Who lead a balanced offense for the orange. Jareid Bryan led transit with 23 points.
Boys & Girls 127, South Shore 59: Boys and Girls tallied up 30 assists while hitting 14 three's in the game. The first quarter started off hot for the Kangaroos as they led 47-18. Devonte Cutler led the team with 12 assists. Lamont Samuel scored 21 points.
Thomas Edison 64, Bayside 57: Stephon Hodges and Isiah Stockly led the way for the judges. Hodges had 17 points and 9 rebounds where as, Stockly poured in 31 points.
Benjamin Cardozo 71, William C. Bryant 61: Reynaldo Walters led a team high 19. Adis Lucevis had a game high 20.
Forest Hills 45, Bayside 43: Nicholas Padgett stole the show as the freshman scored 18 points and added 4 assists in his HS debut. Baysides David Brown and Kevin Chang each had 10 points.
Wadleigh 107, Frederick Douglass Academy 32: Karim Rowson lead all scores with 24, where as Wadleigh as a team had 5 players in double figures. Soph, Joseph Turner connected on 2 three's for 10 points. Terence Henderson recored 15 points while sitting out most of the second half. Victor Sheriff led Douglass with 11 points and was the only one in double figures for the game.
Thurgood Marshall 78, Manhattan Center 73: Marshall was led by Trevor Dillard's 23 points and Antoine Hackman's 16 point 10 rebounds. Tyrone Turner, Jesse Velazqueze, and Irving Cato all scored in double figures.
Manhattan Center 71, Food And Finance HS 63: Irving Cato and Tyrone Turner had 23 and 21 points respectivly. Javier Mckenzie had a team high for Food And Finance with 32 points and grabbing down 13 rebounds. Although, Food And Finance seemed to lack a true one-two punch, which would have made the game alot easier on Mckenzie.
JFK 79, Harry S. Truman 58: Jfk's Naquan Pierce lead the team with 18 points 7rebounds and 6 dimes. Shea Spence added a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Wings Acd. 63, Eagle Acd. 44: Dashaun Wiggins led a balanced offense with 22 points and 5 rebounds. We look for Wings to compete with JFK for the First place in the division.
Petrides 55, Curtis 53: Senior Sean Caputo had a team high 21 points to lead Petrides over Curtis in a thriller. Division 1 prospect Halil Kanaceivic lead his team with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Kanaceivic has been dealing with public disputes with head coach Richard Buckheit.
